Basically, the window regulator is the mechanical unit that is driven by the motor that moves the window glass. You may have a motor that is weak and starting to fail, not giving the regulator enough power to move, or you may have a window regulator that is binding, or even broken. No movement in your glass at all, and hearing the window motor running there may be a good chance your window regulator has failed completely. Having no movement and no sounds from your window motor then you may have an electrical problem between the motor and the window switch. Most often, this can be blamed on the window switch. However, your motor could have died completely or the window relay may have blown. Your Mercedes window relay is located under the dash on the majority of all Mercedes Benz.
