Radiator is a mechanism intended to dispel the heat that’s absorb by the coolant from engine. It is used to seize water in tubes which provides a huge area in contact with the air. During the process, water is released from the engine to the boiler. Here, water will be spread out on each tube. As water passes down, it loses heat to the air stream and passes around the tubes. On the upper tank, a baffle plate is situated directly under the inlet hose from the engine to help spread the heated water all over the top of the tubes.
When your Mercedes Benz 300SD radiator fails to do its job efficiently, your engine will start to overheat. And the worst thing that a malfunctioning radiator can give to your vehicle is total engine meltdown. Usually, radiator problems start slowly that you can’t even notice it. After a period of time, the radiator will get clogged with tiny particles and this dirt will result to radiator’s inefficiency to transfer heat. Consequently, the cooling system will lose its ability to function well.
