Mercedes
Evaporator Drain Tech Tip
|
|
|
|
| My
Feet Get Wet When I Turn A Corner. |
| The
most likely cause is a clogged air conditioning or
evaporator drain. Warmer air flowing past the colder
evaporator condenses and drips into the evaporator
pan. The water should immediately drain from the vehicle.
This is the clear water you see streaming from underneath
other people's vehicles when they are sitting at prolonged
idle. |
|
|
| Over
time the drain can become clogged with leaves
or other debris that gets sucked in the climate
control system. To repair this is quite simple.
In most Mercedes Benz models the rubber drain
hose exits underneath the car on the passenger
side firewall, just to left of your feet when
you are sitting in the car as a passenger. If
you have access to compressed air a small short
burst should unplug the drain. If you do not
have compressed air you can unclog the drain
sometimes by just squeezing the hose or sliding
a screwdriver up the hose. |

| Stand
back so you do not get soaked or stay put if
you want to watch your custom Mercedes Benz
water feature.. You are going to be really surprised
how much water was in there. |
